Co-being Deeper
Co-being is the art of harmonizing dependence and independence into
interdependence. It mirrors jazz musicians: skilled soloists who
create magic only by listening and adapting together.
We
begin life utterly dependent—not just for survival, but for love,
language, and belonging. Independence, like teenage rebellion, is
vital but incomplete; maturity means seeing strength in both
standing firm and leaning gently. Forests embody this: trees stand
tall yet share resources underground, thriving as a collective.
Society often glorifies “going it alone,” breeding shame around
needing help—co-being dismantles this myth. In close relationships,
roles shift fluidly—today’s supporter becomes tomorrow’s supported,
without eroding individuality.
True power lies not in
isolation, but in the dance of giving and receiving. Co-being is the
quiet understanding that we grow tallest when rooted in both self
and community.
